In Sanskrit, the word Sudarshan means the one that shows the auspicious path. (Su = Good or Auspicious and Darshan = path)

How to Chant and When to Chant Sudarshana Maha Mantra

Although there are no stringent limitations, there are certain limitations one should observe when chanting this powerful mantra. They include.

  • Take a bath and make sure the area where you sit is clean and tidy
  • Attain a meditative state and slowly assume Lord Sudarshana form, make sure you do not think about any other things
  • Slowly start reciting this mantra 11, 21 times, or 108 times. (You can keep a Japamala to track the number of times recited)
  • Once the recitation is complete you can offer the prasadam to God and then end the pooja
  • In general, it is best to chant the mantra during early mornings and or evenings (during twilight)

You are the maintainer of the entire universe, and you are the supreme transcendental prowess in the hands of the Supreme Personality of God.

You are the original vision of the Lord, and therefore you are known as Sudarshana Everything has been created by your activities, and therefore you are all-pervading.
